WESTERN, SOUTH DAKOTA - Winter looks to return mainly across western, South Dakota for later tomorrow and into the first part on Saturday. A storm system looks to stay impacting the region later in the afternoon on Friday bring the risk of heavy snows to the southern regions of the Black Hills.
The National Weather Service has placed a Winter Storm Watch for central and southern Black Hills to include the southern foot hills and into the Rapid City and Hermosa regions. The watch goes into effect Friday evening and continues into Saturday morning.
The heaviest snows look to be over the Black Hills where up to 8 inches with isolated higher amounts are possible. We are watching the eastern regions of southwest, South Dakota from the Mission to the Martin areas for increase snow amounts of around 4 to 6 inches are possible.
