SOUTH DAKOTAS WEATHER IS ALWAYS ON OUR RADAR

Winter Operations

On Thursday, the Rapid City Fire Department posted this image on Facebook showing fire recruits doing "winter operations" outside the fire station.  The city received 2.7 inches of snow breaking the old daily record of 0.8 inches of snow.  The temperatures only reached 27 degrees which was 34 degrees below normal.

By Friday, the temperature was a little warm with a high of 36 degrees still 25 degrees below normal.  The city only received trace amounts of snow as much of the activity was east of the region.  For a complete snowfall report from Friday, please check out our other story, Friday's Snowfall Reports.
