SOUTH DAKOTA - The start to the weekend and into Saturday brought hot temperatures, high humidity, and dangerous heat indexes for much of the region. The eastern half of the state was under a Heat Advisory as heat indexes reached into the 100s.
A cold front then pushed through the upper Midwest by late Saturday into Saturday night bring widespread thunderstorms, heavy rains, and much drier air.
On Sunday evening, temperatures were about 5 to 15 degrees below where we were sitting at on Saturday evening. Humidity and dew point readings dropped, making the evening much more livable.
