A low pressure system is forecast to bring precipitation to South Dakota later tonight and into Tuesday. This system will have enough cold air to produce snowfall across western, South Dakota and the Black Hills. The heaviest snows, six inches or great amounts, looks to fall across the Black Hills where a Winter Storm Watch is in effect.
Across southwest, South Dakota snow amounts will range from two to six inches with some isolated higher amounts. The amounts get lighter the more north and east you go.
Eastern, South Dakota looks to sit out of the accumulating snows as mostly rain is forecast, but do not be surprise to see a couple flakes of snow mix in.
