We are watching for the potential for a winter storm to impact the state this weekend. Looking at forecast models, a storm system will move from the southwest and travel northeast. This will push precipitation into the region in the form of rain, freezing rain, wintry mix, and snows.
As of right now, the southeast and east-central, South Dakota stand the best risk for rain or freezing rain with snows across the rest of the state. The northwest will see the lesser amounts of snow with a higher chance of accumulating snows mainly east of the Missouri River.
