Weekend Rains

SOUTHEAST, SOUTH DAKOTA - A storm system is still in the forecast to bring heavy rains across southeast later on today and into this evening.


Has the rains move across the region, moderate to heavy amounts are possible.  The Sioux Falls area may see 1.00" to 1.50" of rain.  In Vermillion, heavier amounts are possible with a forecast amount of 1.50" to 2.00" of rain.

The amounts of rain are reduce as you move northward and westward with Brookings only forecast to received under a half of an inch and Huron under a quarter of an inch.


The rain, mixing or changing over to snow will move eastward into Minnesota by the overnight hours giving way to mostly cloudy to mostly sunny skies for Sunday.

Besides the heavy rains, strong winds are expected with wind gust up to 50mph possible across the southeast.
