SOUTH DAKOTA - As summer like weather comes to end, thunderstorms development and well welcome rain will spread into the region later on today. Unfortunately, some of these thunderstorms in the southwest region of the state could become severe with large hail being the main threat.
By Thursday, chances of rain continue for the north and east. With temperatures on Thursday be cold with highs only into the 40s and 50s, a few flakes of snow cannot be ruled out in north-central.
On Thursday night, chances of rain continue for the east. Some forecast models do show a few flakes of snow possible for northeast, South Dakota as temperatures are forecast to drop into the middle 30s.
