Strong Storm Still Coming


The powerful winter storm still forecast to impact South Dakota starting tomorrow and continue into Thursday as well as Friday morning.

The National Weather Service has placed east-central, northeast, central, south-central and southwest, South Dakota under a Blizzard Warning.  Winter Storm Watches are still in effect for southeast and north-central, South Dakota.  The far west are under Winter Storm Warnings and into the northwest corner, Winter Weather Advisories are in effect.  For the latest warnings/watches, please visit our Weather Alerts Page.

For today, rain showers are expected today and into tonight. The rain is forecast to change over to snow mainly across western and central, South Dakota by tonight. Snow, heavy at times, will overspread the region by Wednesday and continue Wednesday night and Thursday. As the storm intensifies, strong winds up to 60mph will create blizzard conditions and dangerous travel conditions.
