Slippery ice, snow and slush covered roads are creating issues for motorist today. This image below is from the Butte County Sheriff's Office in western, South Dakota showing a motorist in the ditch.
The South Dakota Department of Transportation is reporting most the highways in the state are slippery and requesting motorist to slow down and reduce their speed.
At 8:45am CST, the agency report scattered slippery spots with scattered areas of slush and ice in the Sioux Falls.
Towards the west in Rapid City, highways were mostly snow covered and slippery. The department is asking motorist to reduce their speed when traveling.
