SOUTH DAKOTA - A storm system will start pushing precipitation into the state as early as tonight and continue into Wednesday. Generally three to six inches of snow is expected from southwest, South Dakota up towards the northeast. The far southwest, South Dakota may see higher amounts with four to eight inches with isolated higher amounts across the Black Hills.
Rain and snow will start to spread over southwest, South Dakota by earlier this evening. The southeast may see rain showers and isolated thunderstorms during the overnight hours. The rain and snow will start to spread northward impacting central and northeast, South Dakota. By tomorrow afternoon, most of the region will see the rain changed over to snow before pushing out of the state by Wednesday night.
