Storm Update: March 10th AM


Today's Forecast:

Southwest and Black Hills:  Snow will continue this morning and will slowly come to an end by this afternoon.  Some of the snow could be heavy at times.  Snow amounts of three to eight inches with locally higher amounts possible.

Northwest and North-Central:  Far northwest regions of the state will see little or now snow today with cloudy skies.  A light wintry mix or snow is possible down towards Faith and up towards Mobridge.  Snow amounts remaining under one inch.

Northeast:  Winter Storm Warning in effect for today.  Rain is forecast to change over to snow by this afternoon.  Snow could be heavy at times.  Snow amounts of five to eight inches are possible with isolated higher amounts.

Southeast:  Rain and thunderstorms this morning with rain changing over to snow by late this afternoon.  Snow amounts will be under two inches towards the Mitchell and Madison with light or no snow accumulations in the far southeast region of the state which includes Sioux Falls and Yankton.

South-central:  Any rain falling will change over to snow by this morning and continue chances of snow throughout the day.  Snow amounts of two of five are expected.
