Heavy wet snows are still in the forecast for much of the state by the middle of the work week. As of right now, the heaviest snows look to fall over east-central, South Dakota back towards south-central, South Dakota. Amount of 18 to 24 inches, with some localize higher amounts are possible.
Some issues that may chance this snowfall forecast...
- The northern half may see a push of drier air that will decrease the amount of the snow seen in that region. Right now we have Aberdeen sitting with 2 to 5 inches of snow with Redfield from 9 to 13 inches. If this drier air moves more southward, amount will be lesser in the north.
- The southeast may see a decrease in snow amounts if warmer is pushed into the region giving more rain then snow.
