SOUTH DAKOTAS WEATHER IS ALWAYS ON OUR RADAR

Snow for Groundhog’s Day

A storm system will start to bring snow into west-central and southwest, South Dakota later this evening and into Monday.

The heaviest snow amounts look to be over northern and central, Black Hills where 6 to 10 inches will be possible.  Some locally higher amounts of snow cannot be ruled out.

Lesser amounts of snow, mainly 3 to 6 inches is expected for the foothills and into the plains even lesser amounts, mainly around 1 inch.

The snow is forecast to decrease by Monday afternoon with a few passing light snow or flurries possible.

Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the northern and central, Black Hills starting at 8pm MST this evening and until 6:00pm MST Monday evening.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the foothills and southern, Black Hills starting this evening and continuing until 6:00pm MST, Monday.
