SOUTH DAKOTA - We continue to watch a strong storm system that shows the protentional to bring significant snows to the region. Already, Winter Storm Watches are in effect for parts of Nebraska and Iowa as the area is expected to see the highest amounts of snow.
Snow will start to develop over southwest, South Dakota and move north and east into the rest of the state by Tuesday morning. The snow is expected to persist throughout the day on Tuesday with accumulations expected. At this time, the heaviest snows look to be over southeast, South Dakota where region may see four to eight inches.
The snow is expected to come to an end by late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.
