Snow is starting to bubble up from the south and starting to create some slippery conditions in southwest, South Dakota. Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for today across the south and far eastern regions of the state.
The 24-hour forecast snowfall is calling for the heaviest snow across the southeast, South Dakota with Vermillion expected to get six to eight inches with Sioux City forecast to receive seven to nine inches. Towards the north, Sioux Falls is forecast to see four to six inches and three to five inches in Madison in Brookings.
In the southwest part of South Dakota where a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect look to see two to four inches with higher amounts towards Winner.
For today, snow will move northward and impact the southern and eastern regions of South Dakota. Some areas of blowing snow possible. Today's highs will be into the upper 20s to the mid-30s.
Tonight, decreasing clouds across the west with snow chances remaining for southeast, South Dakota. Areas of blowing snow. Tonight's low dropping into the teens for the west to the 20s in the east.
Wednesday will bring partly to mostly cloudy skies with breezy conditions for the east.
