SOUTH DAKOTAS WEATHER IS ALWAYS ON OUR RADAR

SOUTH DAKOTA - Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories cover all of South Dakota besides Union County in southeast, South Dakota.  Moderate to heavy snow or freezing rain along with rain showers are expected to spread across the state later on tonight and into Thursday.

Ice accumulations from this event look to be the heaviest across northeast, South Dakota where 0.20 to 0.30 of inch with some pockets up to 0.35 of inch cannot be ruled.  Back towards the west across central, South Dakota and down towards southeast, South Dakota, ice accumulations of 0.5 to 0.25 of an inch are possible

Snow amounts look to be the heaviest across the Black Hills and up towards north-central, South Dakota.  Some locations of the Black Hills may see 8 to 12 inches of snow.  Out in the plains and up towards north-central, South Dakota, snow amounts of 6 to 10 inches are possible.

Snow accumulations will be lighter towards eastern, South Dakota as temperatures will be warmer, supporting more rain and freezing rain.
