Dry conditions are expected to continue today and Thursday before a chance of rain moves into the region.
This rain event will be nowhere near the same as the last event that brought over two inches of rain and over a foot of snow across the west.
The forecast is calling for light rain showers to move into western, South Dakota on Friday and spread eastward by late Friday night into the weekend. The chances of rain will continue into Sunday under mostly cloudy skies.
With warmer temperatures, snowmelt and the chances of light rain, expected increase flooding in the region.
