SOUTH DAKOTA - Today conditions across the state, besides a very small chance of rain showers in south-central and southeast, South Dakota. The story chances for the middle of the week and into the weekend as the Gulf of Mexico moisture opens up for the area.
As much of the state is under some type of drought, rain showers will be welcome to the area. Currently, the GFS model shows significant amounts of rain coming the next 10 days (240-hour) with the north-central region of the state seeing the most of the rain. As of right now, the area may see a couple of inches of rain during the time period.
The region will start to see better chances of showers and thunderstorms by the middle of the week and into the week's end. The next three days does not look to bring severe weather, but stay tune for information on the second half of the week.
