SOUTH DAKOTAS WEATHER IS ALWAYS ON OUR RADAR

Powerful Winds

Yesterday's thunderstorms over western, South Dakota brought powerful hurricane force winds.  Just outside of Pine Ridge in southwest, South Dakota a thunderstorm wind gust of 86mph blew through the area!  Not too far away in Porcupine, winds of 71mph occurred and 12 miles east of Oelrichs saw winds of 74mph.

Back towards the north in Rapid City, a wind gust of 55mph was reported and at the Rapid City Airport a wind gust of 62 push through.  In the southern Black Hills, 59mph winds came through the Custer area and 60mph winds near Angostura.

Our neighbors to the south did have one report of a funnel cloud over the city of Chadron, Nebraska.

After the cold front push through the area, northwest winds brought below normal temperatures into the 60s and 70s for highs.
