WESTERN, SOUTH DAKOTA - Numerous severe thunderstorms are expected to develop by mid-afternoon across western, South Dakota. Once developed, the storms are forecast to continue heading eastward into central regions of the state by the evening hours. Latest forecast models have the storms dissipating as they move into the east half of the state later on tonight. The main threat with these thunderstorms will be large hail, damaging winds, lightning and isolated tornadoes.
