Northern Hills Under Warnings

BLACK HILLS, SOUTH DAKOTA - Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the northern, Black Hills starting this evening and continuing into Monday.  The warning includes the areas of Brownsville, Cheyenne Crossing Deadwood, Galena, Lead, and Nemo.

Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for heavy snow and accumulations from six to ten inches by Monday.  Besides snow, breezy conditions are in the forecast with wind gust as high as 35mph.

In Central, Black Hills and into the northern foot hills, which includes Deerfield, Hills City, Keystone, Mount Rushmore, Pactola Reservoir, Rockerville, and Spearfish, the National Weather Service has a Winter Weather Advisory in effect.  Snow amounts will be lighter than the northern Black Hills where three to seven inches are expected in central Black Hills and one to four inches in the foot hills.

Snow amount then drastically decrease into the plains of South Dakota where generally accumulations remaining under one inch.
