SOUTH DAKOTA - This morning people in southern and west-central, South Dakota are waking up to light snow. The Rapid City Airport has been reporting light snow off and on since yesterday evening. Towards the south, Custer is reporting light snow at 5:00am MST and like Rapid City has seen on and off light snow throughout the night.
Into southeast, South Dakota parts of the powerful snow storm has continued to push light snow into the region. At 7:00am CST, the Yankton Airport is reporting light snow with temperatures into the middle teens.
These light snow showers have brought scattered slippery spots on Interstate 90 from Spearfish to Chamberlain and then from east of Mitchell to Sioux Falls this morning. Other roads south of the Interstate 90 are reporting the same conditions and up into northwest, South Dakota due to dense fog and freezing drizzle conditions.
