CUSTER COUNTY , SD - Stormy weather could be easily found in the city of Custer on Thursday with heavy rains and piles of hail. The scene in the city looked more like a winter scene then the end of June.
According to the National Weather Service Office in Rapid City, hail reached up to the size of golf balls (1.75") with most of the hail reported to the size of quarters (1.00").
Rainfall amounts during the event were impressive with 2.08 inches reported within the city. A few miles southwest of town, 1.20 inches of rain was record.
Law enforcement in the area warned the public that the region was experiencing heavy rain, hail and flooding on the roads.
