Flooding and Evacuations

Over five inches of rain and flash flooding occurred from one isolated storm cell that setup over Custer County.  About six miles northwest of Custer, 5.35 inches of rain fell from this storm.  Officially within the city of Custer only 2.10 inches of rain came down.

Many creeks throughout the county came out of their banks and flooding nearby lands and roads.  The Custer County Sheriff's Office warned the public to avoid the Custer Limestone Road and the French Creek Road as water was rushing over the road.

After 6:00pm MDT, authorities reported that flood evacuations were taking place in the city of Custer.
