Faith Area Sees Wind Damage

FAITH, SOUTH DAKOTA - The Faith area in western, South Dakota saw its share for powerful winds, large hail and heavy rains during the late morning hours.

A couple of severe thunderstorms moved through the Faith area at around noon MDT today.  Hail to the size of quarters was reported about six miles west of Usta or northwest of Faith.

The hail got larger, to the size of ping pong balls about four miles east of Fatih.

Besides the hail, strong thunderstorm winds blow through the area.  About nine miles southeast of Usta, a 60mph wind gust was recorded.  In the town of Faith, an 84mph wind gust came through town causing several large trees to be blown over.
