SOUTH DAKOTA - Drought conditions in the state continue to get worse with the newest drought monitor increase the extreme drought (D3 Intensity).
According to the latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor, South Dakota has just under 20 percent of the state is under the extreme drought category. This has increase from last week's report where only 17.8 percent was under the extreme intensity. Cities under the extreme drought include Brookings, Eureka, Faulkton, Ipswich, Madison, Mobridge, Philip and Pierre areas.
There are chances for rain the in the next couple of days, but a good part of the state will see limited moisture.
