SOUTH DAKOTAS WEATHER IS ALWAYS ON OUR RADAR

EF2 in Lawrence County

LAWRENCE COUNTY, SD -  On July 6th thunderstorms develop over Wyoming and then moved into western, South Dakota.  One of these severe thunderstorm produce a tornado west of Reflepit Conyon, south of Cement Ridge in Crook County, Wyoming.  Tornado then cross the state line coming in west-central, South Dakota.

The tornado create widespread tree damage across Tinton Road and Limestone Road in Lawrence County.  This storm then continued it's track eastward and the twister had weaken near Dry Gulch.

The National Weather Service Survey Team found the tornado had estimated peak winds of 120mph giving it a rating of an EF2 tornado.

The tornado traveled just over seven miles and was on the ground for about 20 minutes.
