SOUTH DAKOTA - Drought conditions continue in South Dakota with 99 percent of the state under some type of drought condition, which is an increase from last week's report.
Currently, about 13 percent of the state is an extreme drought which covers parts of south-central and north-central regions of the state. Widespread severe drought can be found with over half of the state under the category.
This weekend will not help the conditions as temperatures are expected to reach into the upper 90s to the lower 100s. Little or no rain is in the forecast for the next several days and extended forecast are showing much of the same.
