SOUTH DAKOTA - The drought continues for South Dakota with no signs of any help on the way. Currently, only 0.19 percent of the state is not in drought and is located north of Aberdeen.
The hardest hit regions are in the southwest and southeast, South Dakota, including the cities of Sioux Falls, Canton, and Pine Ridge. These areas are under extreme drought, which takes up 1.94 percent of the state.
Most of us in South Dakota are under abnormally dry or in moderate drought. Severe drought has shown up in the southwest corner of the state, up into the northwest, South Dakota, and south-central and southwest, South Dakota.
Looking at the precipitation outlook, dry conditions look to continue with increase chances of dry weather for the 8 to 14 day outlook.
