SOUTH DAKOTAS WEATHER IS ALWAYS ON OUR RADAR

Strong northwest winds brought below normal temperatures with afternoon readings only into the 60s and 70s.

In northeast South Dakota, Aberdeen had a peak wind gust of 39mph at 1:00pm with a temperature of 67 degrees.  Towards the south in central South Dakota, Pierre saw a peak wind gust of 46mph at 3:00pm and in Sioux Falls in southeast, South Dakota a wind gust of 39mph was observed at 4:00pm and once again at 6:00pm.

The western side of the state also saw strong northwest winds with the Rapid City Airport reporting a 35mph wind gust at 4:00pm MDT.  Faith felt a strong wind gust of 45mph at 11:00am CDT and in Pine Ridge a just saw a 29mph wind gust at 5:00pm MDT.

The winds are forecast to decrease this evening but below normal temperatures are forecast to stay.
