Yesterday a band of light snow and light freezing rain made roads in South Dakota hazardous for travelers.  The South Dakota reported this accident on Interstate 29 north of Brookings.  According to the Highway Patrol, the driver of the sedan had lost control after hitting a section of ice on a bridge.  The vehicle went across the median and was struck a semi.  Two people inside the sedan were taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries.

This rollover accident occurred when a truck pulling a camper lost control on the icy conditions in southeast, South Dakota.  The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office advised this crash occurred at about 1:30 am CST this morning on Interstate 29.  Luckily nobody was injured.

Motorists continue to deal with slippery conditions this morning.  This image from the City of Sturgis shows slippery and icy streets within the city.  The forecast for today is calling for mostly cloudy skies with areas light snow, likely across the west and central regions of the state.  Today's highs will be into the mid-20s to the mid-30s.

By tonight, clouds will start to decrease with a chance of light snow across the southwest.  Chilly temperatures tonight with overnight lows down into the single digits to the mid-teens.
