Showers and thunderstorms have already been seen in western, South Dakota and are signs of things to come. Today's forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies in the east with partly to mostly cloudy skies in the west. Chance of rain and thunderstorms continue for the west and central regions of the state.
By tonight, thunderstorms will become likely statewide with some areas of heavy rainfall. Flood Watches are in effect for the west.
An isolated strong to severe thunderstorm is possible later on today in far western and far southern regions of the state. Gusty winds, hail, and heavy rain will be the main threat with these storms.
On Memorial Day, showers and thunderstorms will be likely, but coming to an end in the afternoon for the east.
