SOUTHERN, SOUTH DAKOTA - April's snow may not bring May flowers, but it sure brought headaches and travel issues on the highways. A number of emergency agencies across the state have responded to traffic crashes on South Dakota roadways.
This traffic crash posted by the Moody County Sheriff's Office occurred early this morning as snow was coming down and visibilities dropped significantly. Below is a picture by the Colman Fire Department of a semi rollover accident on Interstate 29 near mile marker 120. The department advised the Interstate was snow covered and slushy.
Over towards the west, temporary lane closures had to be done on Interstate 90 as crews recovered vehicles and semis that went into the ditch. This image from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office shows a semi in the ditch near Mile Marker 130 of Interstate 90.
