The damage survey team with the National Weather Service went to rural Allen, South Dakota or northwest of Martin to get data on the twister that formed on June 29th.
The team discovered that the tornado remained on the ground for about 40 minutes but only traveled about 2.3 miles. The tornado stayed mainly over farmland but one house was damaged along with some grain bins and power poles.
The team gave the tornado an EF-1 rating with peak winds of 104mph and a maximum width of 200 yards.
